The purpose of the Wyoming Buddy Walk® is to celebrate the lives of people with Down syndrome and raise awareness about Down syndrome in Wyoming. The annual Wyoming Buddy Walk® also raises money to provide support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. The Wyoming Down Syndrome Association, in conjunction with Ark Regional Services, organizes the event.

"The annual observance of World Down Syndrome Day aims to raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome, and how people with Down syndrome play a vital role in our lives and communities. The date for WDSD, the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

WyDSA's Family Forum can provide you with a space for sharing your feelings and concerns as a parent or family member, and an opportunity to learn from the experiences of others who have been in your shoes. Learning more about Down syndrome can help support you and your family in your journey, and is a great place to start gaining or sharing knowledge. In addition to providing emotional support, other parents or family members can recommend useful Down syndrome resources.
